Ghosts  and hauntings it’s just a fairy tale no one really believes in it, ghosts are not real…….or are they well, there are some people who believe in ghosts and haunting like myself people who are terrified by the mention of ghosts and other paranormal stuff and I can assure you it can get a little spooky once you think about it. Souls that are long gone still lurking, roaming and haunting the places for eternity whether you’re a believer or not there are some places in the world that by claims have witnessed unexplained phenomena and continue to do so. There are places that people believe are haunted and that there is an unearthly presence there and people are scared just to mention the name.

United States as being no stranger to historical tragedies and some really spooky stuff that has occurred in the past so one can only imagine the type of paranormal activities that occur at some sites in the U.S well we can and here is the list of the 5 of the most haunted places in U.S that are surely going to leave you a terrified and may be thinking twice before visiting these places.

5. Eastern State Penitentiary

The Eastern State Penitentiary is located in Philadelphia and is said to be the most creepiest place in Philadelphia it was built in 1829, it was place where the prisoners where rehabilitated by excruciating torture and very strict and serious methods it was homed to murders, rapists and many other violent criminals as it being a former prison, it later become crowded and then abandoned. Many paranormal investigators have investigated the site; people have witnessed creepy shadows lurking in the dark, strange voices, footsteps and other creepy activities.

4. The Stanley hotel

The Stanley hotel is located at Estes Park, Colorado it is more than a 100 years old and luxurious hotel built by a couple F.O. and Flora Stanley who may still be found wondering the grand rooms besides it being a luxurious destination it is also a prime haunting site in the U.S it has also featured in the horror novel as well apart from that a young boy also hanged himself in room 1211 who is still found in the bedrooms and closets, people have witnessed apparitions and have seen objects moving on their own. What’s more interesting is that some eyewitnesses claimed to have seen Mrs. Stanley herself playing the piano. Paranormal teams have witnessed strange phenomena.

When we said U.S is no stranger to historical tragedies this is what we were talking about, the bloodiest battle of the American civil war era the great battle of Gettysburg this battlefield is located in Pennsylvania, the battle took the lives of more than 50000 thousand soldiers with each side suffering a great number of casualties. People have seen apparitions of soldiers and also have heard gunfire, canon fire, moans and screams of soldiers. A site called devils den is the prime location for paranormal activities as many dead soldiers and limbs were discovered after the war ended.

Now an asylum as creepy as they are but a haunted asylum can be a horrifying thought, The Trans-Allegheny Asylum located at Westona West Virginia is the most haunted place on our list it was built in the 19^th century and was homed to the societies unwanted that were mentally ill. Besides from the mentally ill it was also home to murders, rapists and other violent people , the doors of this asylum the doors finally shut in 1994, tormented souls still wander the hallways of this site people have heard violent screams and footsteps behind them some eyewitnesses have also seen figure of a little child sitting a room dressed in white and waiting for someone to place with her.
